There has been no official announcement of Hundred Season 2. Thus, no release date for the second season has been announced. In any case, the question is whether or not Hundred will return in Season 2 and if so, when.
What we know so far about Hundred’s upcoming season and when it will air is all here for you.
In 2012, the popular Japanese light novel Hundred, known as Handoreddo in Japan, was first published. The anime series is based on this novel. Jun Misaki wrote the Hundred Light Novel series and Nekosuke Kuma illustrated it.
The anime series Hundred is a mecha-harem series with action elements and is very popular worldwide. The story is about Hayato Kisaragi who is a teenager and tech-savvy boy with the technology known as Hundred. Due to this, he is invited to attend a prestigious military academy aboard a battleship in order to master his skills.
Only one season of Hundred has been produced so far, Studio Production IMS animated Hundred Season 1 under the direction of Tomoki Kobayashi. The director has not yet been confirmed to return for Hundred S2.
In April 2016, the first 12 episodes of Hundred television anime series premiered in Japan. There have been a large number of fans that are eagerly waiting to watch Hundred Season 2 Episode 1 or some sort of sequel to this series.
You can also check the other anime sequels such as:
- Citrus Season 2
- Rokka No Yuusha Season 2
- Eromanga Sensei Season 2
- Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3
Will There Be Hundred Season 2?
There will never be a second season of Hundred. Because it was a financial failure. Therefore, this anime season was never planned a second time, and the studio responsible for its animation closed down in 2018. Since there is no second season to advertise, there is nothing to promote.
Despite strong ratings, Hundred anime series failed to earn a profit. For this series, there are no merchandise and one figure produced, and Blu-Ray sales are roughly 1350 which is very low. In addition, the most recent volume of the light novel sold only approximately 5,000 copies following the anime adaptation, so I doubt Hundred season 2 will happen.
Furthermore, Production IMS, the company that animated the show, filed for bankruptcy in 2018. The light novels were also ended with Volume 16. Consequently, there are no reasons why the production committee would agree to fund the second season of this series.
Release Date of Hundred Season 2
Since Hundred Season 2 was never confirmed, canceled, or announced, there is no official release date, and a release date will never be announced because there will never be a second season.
The anime sequel I am referring to is one of the only ones where the release date and new season are never announced. To receive additional anime projects, this series is simply too weakened by too many factors. Since 2014, neither Twitter nor the official website has been updated.
In the unlikely event of a new Hundred anime project being announced on the official Hundred Twitter account, If somehow it happened, we’ll update this post. Because the anime only covered volumes 1 through 4, you can start reading the light novel from volume 5 if you’ve lost hope that a new Hundred season will be produced.
Check some of my research on some of the anime sequels. Below are some examples:
